Holiday Reminders

What a wonderful and busy term we had!! All of the children deserve a restful holiday break!

On the last day of school, a few items were sent home for the students to carry on their reading over the holidays. You will find this in a clear plastic sleeve in their book bags.

All of the students will have:

• 4 books
• These are intended to be read by the children over the break. 2 books a week, just like if they were at school. These are books they haven't read before and may find them tricky, so adults can of course support them by reading the books to them first. 

• A sheet for Sunshine Classics
• This is an online activity tool that you can do on a computer or iPad.
• The login is the child's name as one word with a capital letter for the last name (they are all written on the sheet)
• The password is reading.
• I have assigned 2 books that you can work through with the children. They will need sound on the device to fully participate in and complete the activities.

Please don't feel pressure to absolutely complete all of these books AND activities but it is important that some sort of reading/writing is kept up over the two-week break.

Some of the children will also have a Phonological Awareness booklet in their book bag. This is to inform you of what we have been working on with them to support their learning in reading and writing. There are also simple activities that you can do with your children to continue helping them.
